So I may have gone a little overboard on Jill and Pete’s wedding feature! I had a very difficult time narrowing down photographs to share here on the blog- from the incredibly beautiful details (dress by Pronovias, jewelry from Premiere Couture in Madison Wi, shoes by Allure, flowers by Petals of Wauwatosa Wi, her mother’s vintage bridal veil), a surprise gift from the groom to his bride, a diamond bracelet from Barnes Jewelers of Pabst Farms in Oconomowoc, the romantic lakeside editorial-style shoot of the couple and their bridal party, to the fun-filled wedding reception with surprises such as a toast sung and played from the father of the bride, a candy table, Milwaukee Wi’s own North Coast Orchestra, and an impressive choreographed first dance, there was so much to love about this wedding. UW-Madison graduates Jill and Pete planned their October Wisconsin Wedding at the Oconomowoc Lake Club, which just happens to be a favorite venue of mine to photograph. The elegant, nautical decor has captured my imagination since I was a little girl, swimming, boating, playing tennis, and attending parties there. Needless to say, I feel right at home. It is the perfect place to host a wedding, with the ceremony, dinner, and dancing overlooking the lake, in any season of weather. In addition, I was just as inspired doing the photo editing as I was actually photographing the day. One thing I love most about photographing weddings is the constant creative challenge of capturing fleeting moments in time in such a way that gives them the ability to come alive over and over again. Jill and Pete made it easy- their love and adoration of each other and the way they care for their family and friends emanates from them. Not to mention the bride’s pension for all things beautiful and romantic. The warmth, whimsy, and emotion of their wedding day just radiates in the imagery below… I sincerely hope you enjoy this massive blog post!
