Kelsey + Cody || Cupola Barn Wedding

On a recent sunny summer Friday, I had the opportunity to co-shoot a Cupola Barn wedding with talented wildlife photographer James Overesch Photoraphy. Together, we captured the LOVELY couple Kelsey + Cody’s beautiful wedding day. It was perfect, really, every detail so carefully curated & arranged, highlighting the couple’s mutual love of the country, outdoors, and raw beauty found in Creation. Kelsey & her mother designed & set up everything in the Cupola Barn, with the help of SUPER talented Sage Floral of Oconomowoc, WI. An array of florals paired with vintage glass + whitetail deer antlers sat atop rough cut wood slabs, arranged on flowy beds of eucalyptus sprigs decorated the dining tables for the reception. “Cody actually picked out our venue. Immediately when we walked into the barn, we both just knew it was the place where we would say ‘I do,'” Kelsey shared with me. ” My vision was to balance romantic & feminine with Cody’s masculine side. He is a hunting enthusiast & I just love beautiful flowers, so that is why you will see a lot of flowers & gold accents paired with antlers & some touches of wood slabs. I also used his rifle shell casings as the boutonniere holders for him & his groomsmen.” Though flowers & textures & colors & intentional details are awe-inspiring, nothing is more beautiful than a woman in love!! Cody’s favorite memory of their big day is seeing his bride walk down the aisle, and when they saw each other in that moment, everything went calm & pure joy reigned.

Another favorite memory of the bride’s, as you will see evidence of in the photos below, was taking pictures with just Cody. “He likes to make me laugh and I love his goofiness!” As the photos below naturally reflect, Kelsey & Cody are an absolute delight to be around, and anyone can tell they make a great pair. Although my picture-taking duties ended at the last kiss for the camera before the newlyweds joined their cocktail hour, wedding guests were treated with a catered dinner by From Scratch Catering out of Cedarburg, WI, and a dessert table adorned with goodies by Cake & Bake in Menomonee Falls. Personalized mason jars were the perfect party favors with which friends & family could enjoy a favorite beverage, and take home to use & enjoy, remembering back on Kelsey + Cody’s idyllic Cupola Barn Wedding. DJ Express out of West Bend carried the party into the night, and after the last guest left, it was just Kelsey + Cody. “Taking in the quiet of the barn… was extremely bittersweet. It was a perfect moment for us just to take in the day & snap a few selfies as husband & wife,” recalls Kelsey. Indeed, it is always a surreal moment to know that the joy, excitement, planning, & anticipation has come to a close as a wedding day commences, BUT- if you’ve invested in an experienced & hard-working photographer, you will have LOADS of great memories & romantic frozen-in-time moments to delight in & gush over as you relive your special day… again & again & again.

Thank you, Kelsey + Cody, for choosing me to be a part of your incredible Cupola Barn wedding!!
